World Champions Dinner

jiske griffioen

And after the World Team Cup in Tokio, I fly to Paris for the 2nd grand slam event of the year. I'm so excited to be back in Paris for Roland Garros. I have great memories here as I won singles and doubles in 2015 and moved up to world number 1 of the rankings for the first time in my life. And because I was still number 1 at the end of 2015, I will be crowned as world champion at the champions dinner in Paris. All the world number ones (Djokovic, Williams, but also Dutch doubles specialist Jean Julian Rojer and the juniors) will be honored at this dinner. An amazing experience  and I'm so happy that my parents, my coach, the head coach of the Netherlans and Debra and Kirsty from my sponsor BP could be there to celebrate this moment with me!

Enjoying this moment with my coach Dennis van Scheppingen. It's a great feeling when hard work pays off!
