1st title of 2014!!!

Day 4 of the Sydney International Open. We played the womens final doubles today. Lucy and I played the final against Jordanne Whiley and Yui Kamiji. A pair that played together more often, for us it was the 1st tournament we played together.

At the beginning of the match we weren't playing well and it showed we didn't play a lot of matches together before. We lost the 1st four games, so not a good start at all. Then we started to play better and at 3-4 we even had chances to make 4-4. Unfortunately we lost that game, and allowed our opponents to take the set 6-3.

We had a better start in the 2nd set, taking a lead immediately. We made less unforced errors and took the 2nd set 6-2.

The 3rd set was a battle. We faced 0-2 down, but got back to 2-2. The next games all went to deuce, but we took all of them, winning the 2nd set 6-2. Nice to take the 1st title of the year. Tomorrow I will play the singles final against Sabine Ellerbrock.
